With our new Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Finland, significant funding, and rapid expansion across key European markets, we’re entering a bold new chapter. We have rebranded, expanded our team, and are scaling our marketing efforts to match our ambitions. We’re now looking for a world-class Head of Marketing to shape, lead, and accelerate our next stage of growth.
The Role
As the Head of Marketing, you will own the end-to-end marketing function; Brand, Growth, Product Marketing, PR, CRM, Content, Partnerships, and In-market Activation. You will lead a "small but mighty" central team of specialists while guiding our local marketing teams across Europe.
This is a role for a hands-on growth leader who is commercially minded and moves between high-level strategy and granular execution with ease. You are comfortable with "build and fly" environments and have a proven track record of helping businesses transition from startup to scale-up. You will be accountable for driving sustainable multi-market growth, embedding wamo’s brand across Europe, and elevating our reputation within the fintech ecosystem.
You will report to the fractional CMO and partner closely with Product, Data, Sales, CX, and Country Leads to build a connected, high-performing growth engine.
What You Will Lead
1. Multi-Market Growth
- Own the multi-country acquisition strategy, optimizing paid, organic, and emerging channels.
- Drive efficient CAC and funnel conversion through scalable, repeatable acquisition engines.
- Build country-level playbooks to ensure local teams execute with quality, efficiency, and brand consistency.
2. Brand & Communications
- Evolve and embed wamo’s brand identity across every touchpoint and market.
- Lead brand storytelling and creative development to build wamo into the most trusted SMB brand in Europe.
3. PR & Reputation
- Own corporate and product PR strategy; build high-impact relationships with media, influencers, and business associations.
- Position wamo as a champion of SMBs through thought leadership, awards, and community engagement.
4. Product Marketing
- Translate complex financial features into simple, compelling value propositions for SMBs.
- Partner with Product to lead feature launches, messaging, and adoption campaigns based on deep customer insights.
5. CRM, Lifecycle & Engagement
- Develop world-class lifecycle strategies across onboarding, activation, and retention.
- Increase engagement through personalized messaging and human-centered customer journeys.
6. Team Leadership & Operations
- Scale and mentor a high-performing central team (3-4 specialists) and growing in-country teams.
- Establish a culture of experimentation, clear measurement, and accountability.
- Manage the end-to-end marketing budget, agency relationships, and ROI optimization.
- Implement robust operating rhythms and performance reporting to align marketing activity with company goals.
What You Will Bring
- 8–12+ years of experience in high-growth fintech, SaaS, or SMB-focused technology businesses.
- Multi-market expertise: Proven experience leading marketing teams across diverse European markets.
- Full-stack capability: Expertise across brand, growth, and retention, with total ownership of full-funnel metrics.
- Commercial Acumen: A deep understanding of CAC, LTV, conversion, and budget optimization.
- Leadership: A track record of building, coaching, and scaling diverse marketing teams.
- Agility: The ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments; remaining hands-on when needed and strategic when required.
- Passion: A genuine drive to help SMBs and entrepreneurs succeed.
