SALV Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to support its SALV Fuel business unit, which operates the Pitstop brand, and SALV Properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised individual to join a dynamic team and contribute to the efficient financial administration of two key pillars within the Group.
As an Accountant, you will be responsible for providing assistance to the finance team in their financial reporting responsibilities including providing timely, complete, and accurate accounting records whilst ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Job Duties
- Assisting in the preparation of the management accounts
- Assisting in the preparation of company forecasts
- Assisting in the preparation of a consolidated annual budget based on the plans and objectives of the Board
- Performing monthly reconciliations related to the finance department
- Coordinating the external audits and finance related internal audits as may be required
- Maintaining accurate accounting records
- Maintaining and assisting in updating the internal control system around finance processes
- Preparing additional ad-hoc reporting as requested by management, banks and other stakeholders
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Directors or the Chief Financial Officer which duties shall cover those activities and responsibilities which are considered as falling within the ordinary competence of such title and role.
Job Requirements
- In possession of a University Degree in Accounting or an equivalent qualification such as ACCA
- Candidates in the final stages of their ACCA qualification will be considered also
- Work experience in a similar position will be considered an asset
- Fluency in written and oral English and Maltese
- Be highly motivated and organised
- Be able to work under pressure and on own initiative
- Have a pleasant personality
