Our client, a respected organisation in the banking sector, is looking for a proactive IT Security Analyst to join their technology team and help strengthen their security posture. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early-career experience who’s ready to deepen their hands-on security expertise.
As an IT Security Analyst, you’ll work closely with experienced tech and security professionals to help protect systems, networks, and data from security threats. You’ll play a key role in monitoring threats, supporting day-to-day security operations, and improving security processes that keep the organisation safe.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Support and administer cybersecurity tools such as firewalls, endpoint protection (AV/EDR), SIEM and vulnerability scanning tools
- Monitor systems and logs for unusual activity, potential threats, and security incidents
- Assist with incident response and identifying risks before they become issues
- Help improve security configurations across Windows and Linux environments
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in security operations and processes
- Work with teams to apply best practices in access control, system hardening, and threat awareness
- Create and maintain technical documentation and security reports
📌 What We’re Looking For
- Around 2 years of IT or cybersecurity experience (or equivalent systems/network experience)
- Solid understanding of core cybersecurity principles (network security, access control, threat monitoring)
- Hands-on experience supporting or administering security technologies such as firewalls and endpoint tools
- Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments
- Basic understanding of networking concepts like TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and routing
- Exposure to vulnerability management, security assessments, or compliance activities
- Willingness to learn, grow, and dive deeper into the world of cybersecurity
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
🎓 Education & Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, or similar are a bonus
