Role Overview
We are seeking to recruit a Junior Administration Officer to join our team. The selected candidate will provide administrative and operational support to senior team members while assisting in the day-to-day handling of customer-related activities, documentation, and internal processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an organised and motivated individual looking to develop a career within the banking sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Head of Wealth Management, the Head of Personal Banking, and the wider team in activities related to the promotion of the Bank’s products and services
- Assist in managing customer relationships by preparing documentation, updating records, and maintaining client files in an organised and compliant manner
- Support the account‑opening process by preparing forms, collecting required documentation, and assisting clients at the Branch or other designated locations
- Handle general customer queries related to e‑banking, deposits, account opening, and similar matters, escalating more complex requests to senior team members when appropriate
- Assist in coordinating and organising meetings, events, and promotional initiatives, including participating when required
- Maintain accurate records and ensure proper filing of documentation in line with internal procedures and regulatory obligations
- Work collaboratively within the team and provide support to colleagues as necessary
- Keep up to date with internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements to ensure effective execution of duties
- Carry out general administrative and clerical tasks as assigned by management in line with the role’s responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and responsible demeanour at all times, adhere to all applicable workplace policies and regulations, perform duties diligently and efficiently, and safeguard the Bank’s property
Requirements & Qualifications
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior team members
- Able to organise own workload, handle routine tasks efficiently, and work within set deadlines
- A diploma or relevant qualification in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field would be considered an asset
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel
- Good written and verbal communication skills in both Maltese and English
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and develop within the banking and financial services environment
- Previous experience in an administrative or customer-facing role will be considered an asset
